We are aware of scams involving individuals being offered loans for an advanced upfront fee. With the fraudster posing as a representative of a financial services organisation. At Pepper Money we do not charge any fees before the application stage. We would not approach you directly in this way. Your broker will be able to tell you what fees and charges the product you’re applying for has, and when they will be charged. If you think you have been a victim of such a scam, please contact your bank immediately and report it to action fraud.

If you have a mortgage or homeowner loan with Pepper Money, here are frequently asked questions about payments and fees on your account from our customers.

Can I be sent a link to make a payment?

Yes, we use text messages to communicate with some customers and send secure payment links.

Once you’ve requested this, the message you receive will display from; ‘PEPPER’ on your phone. The link to make a payment that you request will contain the word Pay Thru, our payment partner.

If you’re unsure if a text is from us, one of our team will be happy to help you. You can give us a call Monday to Friday between 9am – 6pm on 03333 701 102. You can also make an automated payment by phone using the same telephone number, 24 hours a day.

How do I make a payment/pay a fee?

When your mortgage or loan was completed, you were set up to make payments by direct debit. However, if you’re no longer paying by direct debit and want to make an additional payment or pay a fee, there are a number of ways you can do so:

Call our Customer Services team on 03333 701 102 to pay by debit card. Our team is available Monday to Friday between 9 am and 6 pm. You can pay through our automated system outside of these hours.

By cheque:

Please make it payable to Pepper Money, including your account number on the reverse of the cheque, and send it to:

Can I repay part of my mortgage?

Yes. During your initial term, you can pay up to 10% of the outstanding balance each year without having to pay an Early Redemption Charge (ERC). If you wish to repay more than 10% of the outstanding balance during your initial term you will be subject to an Early Repayment Charge.

When does my Early Repayment Charge (ERC) period end?
